Create a New Shift

  1. Choose between two options:

    • Click the down arrow next to the New button.

    • Select File > New > Select from the Main Menu.

      The Module menu opens.

  2. Select Shift from the menu.

    The Shift Details page opens.

  3. Enter an ID for the new shift in the Shift ID field.

    The ID must be unique. If you enter an ID that is already in use, you will be prompted to correct this when you attempt to save the new record.

    Shifts are defined per Repair Center and the ID must be unique across Repair Centers.

  4. Enter a more descriptive name for the shift in the Name field.

    The name does not need to be unique. The ID and Name fields are both displayed in the Shift List.

  5. Select a color for the shift from the Shift Color field.

    This color displays on the respective tab on Labor Calendars. This color does not alter the display of work orders or assignments tied to this shift.

  6. Select the supervisor of this shift from the Supervisor field.

  7. Select the repair center associated with the shift from the Repair Center field.

  8. Enter the phone number, fax, or URL that should be associated with this record in the respective fields.

  9. Select the Active check box if this shift should be active.

    This check box is selected by default.

  10. Enter an email address and any comments that should be associated with this record as necessary.

  11. Attach an icon:

    1. Click the Attach button.

      The Change Icon window opens.

    2. Use the page controls at the bottom of the window to navigate through the available choices.

    3. Click the icon you want to use.

      The icon will be highlighted.

    4. Click Apply.

      The icon is displayed on the Details page.

  12. Attach a photo to the shift, if necessary.

  13. Click Save.
